Sara

My name is Sara, and I’m a full-time student at the University of Galway. Over the past two years, I’ve been working as a swimming instructor, teaching a wide range of ages and abilities. I’ve provided both private and group lessons for children, adults, and individuals with intellectual disabilities. Additionally, I’m a qualified RLSS lifeguard and trained in First Aid.

Outside of instructing, I spent my childhood and teenage years as a competitive swimmer, competing in national competitions worldwide. My passion for water continues, and I regularly engage in various water-related activities. In my spare time, I also enjoy motorsport, playing the piano, and reading.

Alice

Hi, I’m Alice. I was born in Belfast, moved to Jersey at four, then to Fermanagh, and now I live in the Galway countryside.

Before becoming a swimming teacher l evel 1 and 2, I worked as an Outdoor Activity Instructor in Cornwall and Connemara, leading activities like kayaking, surfing, climbing, and archery for school groups and families. I enjoy jobs that keep me active and allow me to work with people, especially kids, so swimming teaching has been both fun and rewarding.

In addition to swimming teaching, I’m an avid knitter and open water swimmer, having completed several Gaelforce swims. I’m also aiming to take on a 3.9km swim with them. I’m passionate about running as well.
